Les Miserables: A Student Theatre production
Thsi is Les Miserables. A summer product that was put together in 8 days by the very talented children of Burlington Summer Arts Camp. Summer of 2004

Have you ever seen anything so morally, ethically, legally, and artistically wretched? Feel free to chime in.

Of note:
* the OBC playing in the background
* ballet dancers
* a lot of spoken lyrics

Does this count as wank? Or maybe Simon Bailey IS wank. Or there will be ensuing wank.

Either way, my friend shawk has penned, among other things, a highly amusing assessment of Simon Bailey's Enjolras. ;-)

I must admit that it was sort of amusing to watch him, in a car-crash sort of way, especially when he was falling off the barricade after being shot, but doing it as if it were a water slide. Also the way he had to sort of hold himself for support when attempting to hit the high notes ("attempt" being the key word there). Another favorite moment was when Marius was shot and he hurtled down the barricade, threw himself on the ground, screamed, "NOOOOoooOOOOOO!" and started pounding the floor like a two year-old. That spells leadership to me!

Alright, I've wanked other people, so it's high time I wanked myself.

I present to you a clip of unprecedented wankiness.

Eponine's Errand...

In squaredance form...

Very childish and immature.

PS - I'm the horrible country!Eponine... 0_

Eponnines Magikal Goddess!!!1!!1!

Alright, I know everybody and their mother has probably already read this, but I'm just trying to bring back some life to a very still community.

I bring you 'Angels of the Battlefield' by 'Brown-Eyed Fencer of Conte-Flyery'. Her name should be enough.

This of course, is the story I showed to Latin_Cat, if story is what it can be called. It's your typical Eppie-Sue, but never before have I seen one so heinous. And what's more, the authoress doesn't see ANYTHING wrong with Eponine having magical healing powers, or that a goddess lives inside of her, or that she runs the freakin' streets of Paris, or that she's a better artist than Feuilly, or that her artist name is 'Solitaire Painteur', or that she and Enjolras fall in love.

Or that she spells them 'Enjoloras' and 'Montreparnase'.

IMDb users are so... special.

Nothing quite as funny as the last post in this community, but I've written posts about this before (here and here, if anyone's interested) and I thought it was time for a new one. So... some gems from the TAC IMBb boards.

Let's start out with Philip Quast's amazing colour-changing hair:

1) The strange thing: did anyone noticed that Javert's hair is cahnging during the show??? At the beginning it's dark brown (or even black), and at the baricades it's white. I suppoe it's on purpose, is it because he is getting older or something? In this case, why onle he changes? And is that a wig? Because it's a really good one (well, it meant to be)...

A deep and highly accurate character analysis of Eponine:

Eponine has to be the best character from fictional history! And here's why:

We first meet Eponine and we see a sweet childlike person, however this soon changes to reveal a law-breaking, heart-broken girl. 'Eponine's Errand' allows the audience to see that she is not a shallow character, she has real feelings for Marius, and even though her jelousy is shown, she agrees to find Cosette - Showing her need to please. 'In My life' and 'A Heart Full of Love' show her loving, heart-broken characteristics, We've always seen her to be quite a strong minded character, but hwer weakness is starting to show. 'The Attack on Rue Plumet' - Amazing. she shows such determination, she has to choose between her family or the love of her life, but also between good or evil. The scream is symbolic of her law-breaking, family obeying character escaping her body. In 'One Day More' we see Eponine looking to what the future holds for her, and things don't look good for her. 'Own My Own' shows us a range of emotions:
Bitterness - "Without me this world will go on turning!"
Depressed - "He is gone...the rivers just a river"
Anger - "And I know, it's only in my mind!"
Loneliness - "The city goes to bed...and I can live inside my head"
Even some slight joy "When I lose my way I close my eyes and he has found me."

In 'A Little Fall of Rain" Eponine doesn't seem to care that she's dying, just as long as Marius is with her, She can't think of a better way to die than in the arms of the man she loves.
Finally in the 'Finale' we see that her spirit was sent God, revealing her character was genually good.

I want to see Michael Maguire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did no one here mention him? My life will not be complete until I see him in person. And I won't die happy unless I get to kiss him :)

And last but not least, a thought I'm sure we've all entertained... or not:

Was Marius in love with Eponine?? From my understanding, it seemed Marius loved both Eponine and Cosette, but since he couldn't hve Eponine (cuz she died) he just went with Cosette cuz she was the only one left.

Gotta love that place, eh?

Along Came an Eppie-Bopper

So we were having an otherwise peaceful and interesting discussion on the Cosette/Marius/Eponine love triangle over on lesmiz, and I should have known it was too polite and intelligent to last very long.

Enter les_mis_24601, an idiot who's previously made a name for herself mostly by posting really awful smut (deleted) and begging for advice on how to use LJ (directed to FAQ) over on makinghugospin.  She proceeds to demonstrate the laws of irony in full effect by interrupting a conversation that's basically gone "Differences of opinion don't matter as long as the opinions are well thought out" with incoherent Eppie-bopper babbling.

You really kinda have to see the travesty for yourself to get an idea. The only reason I'm not calling sockpuppet is because one of our members had the misfortune to meet her in person at the stage door once.

You know, I just uploaded this icon yesterday.  I didn't think I'd have occasion to use it within mere hours of putting it up on LJ.

Edit: She just kept coming back for more. I should've sat back and watched the wank unfold, but instead I banned her. Sorry to spoil the fun.
